We
have been very busy at the shop this winter repainting floors,
buying new rugs, ordering new clothes, jewelry and fun spring
merchandise.
Each
year brings something new to the Herbary.
With each new employee, the energy changes and we all
grow. I am blessed
with three beautiful talented women that truly make my life
easy. Each one has
special qualities; different from one another but together we
make a whole.
We
have so many new plans. A
water garden and waterfall will be installed over by our
sunken garden. New
garden plans are being worked on, adding to our already
extensive herb gardens.
A
friend of mine is going to help us build an outdoor baking
oven known as a “horno”.
This southwestern bread-baking oven is still used by
American Indians today. It’s
the shape of a beehive and is traditionally made from adobe
brick. We will use
regular brick and cement.
A wood fire is lit inside and allowed to burns hot and
fast and when it goes out, the ashes are swept out and the
bread put in and a door closed.
I am really looking forward to the construction of the
“horno”. Hopefully
by fall, we’ll be baking bread outdoors!!
How exciting?
We
are an exciting growing ever changing herb and garden business
with special extras like clothing and jewelry.
It’s a really fun place to visit and stay awhile.
We make shopping fun, convenient and easy.
Martha’s Herbary is a fun feeling place and we all
welcome your visit soon.
Let's
talk about what's
new in the shop...
