This upcoming spring season at Martha’s Herbary will be a very exciting time for everyone. This February we are repainting the floors, getting new rugs and painting our book nook a beautiful Tuscan yellow. I can’t wait!! As usual, Martha has personally picked new clothing lines as well as great new accessories. We’re very excited about a new leather line called Hobo. They make gorgeous leather bags, wallets and backpacks. Get ready for red this spring, it is definitely in and we love it here. We have an awesome red, sleek backpack coming.The Spring 2003 clothing collection will be fun textured, colorful linen and cottons. Our clothing is easy to wear and easy to care for. Martha has exquisite silk outfits coming in that can either be dressed up or dressed down to fit the perfect occasion. Our first shipment of clothes comes in February and continues each month. Those of you that know our shop know that it constantly changes and we don’t always have the same things twice so if you see it and like it you better buy it or be disappointed.

Our customers are always complementing Martha for her fresh spunky taste in clothing, jewelry and accessories. She has a flair for putting outfits and accessories together and her customers rely on her for that.

The accessories at Martha’s Herbary are above and beyond.  Individuals are pleasantly surprised at the selection of hats, scarves and jewelry that Martha’s has to offer.  Our winter and summer hats are not only fun and stylish they are also practical. Lush wool and soft fleece help to keep you warm and cozy in the bitter cold winter, and cool and shaded while, working in the garden, during the warm spring and sultry summer.  Soon, we will be getting in some new summer garden hats with a rawhide chinstrap.  How cute, and practical.  

Scarves, scarves, scarves, our selection is incredible.  From playful butterfly printed scarves to sophisticated black velvets, we carry a scarf for every outfit.  A new type of scarf that we will be getting this spring is made of silk and hand painted by four separate individuals using a batik (wax) technique.  The right scarf can really complete an outfit.  If you have not seen or heard about the Moa Boa from Martha’s Herbary yet, it is not too late to come in a check them out. Martha will be selling the famous scarf year round. With new spring colors we are sure that the multi purpose scarf will be a hit year round. Along with the Boa’s, the shop will also have a huge variety of light spring and summer scarves, unique handbags, and exquisite garden hats. 

Oh, the jewelry.  A new selection of one of a kind Kazuri African necklaces are here.  This company is all about putting women to work in Africa that otherwise would have a difficult time of it.  These ceramic necklaces with their bright dotted colored beads are hand crafted in a small workshop on an old coffee plantation in which is now a suburb of Kenya ’s capital city, Nairobi.  The word “Kazuri” is the Swahili word for “small and beautiful.”  Each necklace sold is providing a days salary for one of the talented Kazuri women.  Kazuri beads are just gorgeous.  Each and every clay bead is carefully shaped, fired, painted, then fired again.  Some are even decorated with gold leaf. These exquisite pieces of art make a great gift for a friend, or for you!

If you’re looking for unique, we have it.  We are getting in new jewelry all the time.  Sea glass, jade, stones, Hawaiian shells, beads, buttons, and clay are just a few of the materials used to create beautiful and fun necklaces, earrings, pins and bracelets.  We still carry our very reasonably priced sea glass necklaces from Martha's yearly trip to St. John.  These are great and can be worn daily with tee shirts and casual cloths. With brand new bright spring colors, we are sure that they will be just as popular as ever this spring.  We will also be getting new accessories this spring.  One of the new accessories that we are excited about are these really cool one of a kind hand painted canvas totes and backpacks.  These works of art will be in lush muted earth tones.  We will also be getting small Chinese silk handbags. Very sweet!
